Mineraliseringen ligger på platået rett nord for Mikkelsnes. Den ligger i Mikkelsnessekvensen, en utholdende sekvens av amfibolitt og kvartsbåndet jernmalm som er beskrevet under FI0279 Stonga. Ved Mikkelsnes opptrer i nordkanten av ei myr en vel 0.5 m mektig finkornig kvartsbåndet magnetitt-mineralisering (prøve 01) i amfibolitt. Nær mineraliseringen fører amfibolitten granat. Strøket er pga. folding variabelt, men relativt steiltstående. Det opptrer endel få-dm-mektige mineraliseringer noen timetre mot nord. 60 m NV for førstnevnte blotning er det en 1 m mektig malmhorisont. Lokaliteten ligger i en ombøyning av den malmførende sekvensen, og den forløper herfra mot NV og N.
