Malmen strekker seg usammenhengende ca. 800 m langs Ørnevatns nordbredd. Det er tre malmkonsentrasjoner: Vest ca. 4300 m2, Sentralt ca. 1900 m2 og Øst ca. 6700 m2. Diamantboring (3 hull på tilsammen 302 m) viser at bare den østlige delen opprettholder mektigheten mot dypet. Malmen er trolig av Brattlitypen, d.v.s. en god liggmalmtype av tilnærmet Bjørnevannskvalitet. Gehalten varierer mellom 15 - 30 % Fe magn. Den østlige delen er blottet på kolle mellom veien og Ørnevatn, og viser utgående av minst 17 m mektig finkornet, kvartsbåndet magnetittmineralisering. I borhullsskjæring er denne delen 58.10 m mektig med gehalt 30.6 % Fe magn. Kvarts-magnetittbånding i mm-få-cm-skala. Relativt steiltstående, men varierer pga. folding - akse 85°/45°. Enkelte diskordante cm-mektige kvartsårer i malmen. Lys kvartsittisk gneis i kontakten mot nord. Det er mulig at Teltbuktmalmen har geologisk sammenheng med Ørnåsen II og III (FI0323), og at malmen strukturelt tilhører samme antiformstruktur. Malmen er vurdert uaktuell som driftsmalm uten senking av Ørnevatn, selv da er malmmengdene trolig små.
