| Fra Sørvågmælens NØ-side forløper en 6-8m mektig rustsone i omlag samme høyde, 210m.o.h., rundt N-siden og fortsetter på V-siden. Det er flere steder tegn på avrøskningsarbeider. Rustsonen består av finkornet glimmergneis med lag av kvartsrik glimmergneis/kvartsitt med finfordelt magnetkis-disseminasjon. På NØ-siden (ved UTM 507770 7643630) er det bare svak magnetkis-disseminasjon (prøve 01), mens det på V-siden (hovedforekomst) er ett (eller fler?) lag/linser av 0.5m mektighet med massiv finkornet magnetkis med små (1-3mm) kuler av kvarts og sannsynligvis sideberg (durchbewegung, prøve 03) og semimassiv magnetkis i kvartsittisk glimmergneis i den rustne glimmergneisen med magnetkis-disseminasjon (prøve 02). |
