Description

Klebersteinen er omvandlet fra en ultramafisk bergart, dels peridotitt og dels dunitt. Klebersteinen er typisk for Hattfjelldal regionen. Den er lys, dels massiv og dels skifrig. Den består hovedsakelig av talk og har sannsynligvis litt serpentin. Som i Storvegskaret har den små sorte korn av magnetitt/kromitt. I Raudskaret er den største ultramafittlinsen ca. 100 x 40 m. I tillegg er det 5 små linser hvorav en i NØ (UTM oppgitt) er en hel del omvandlet til kleberstein. De andre små består hovedsakelig av dunitt og peridotitt og er i liten grad serpentiniserte. Klebersteinen finnes i kontakten mellom ultramafitten og sidesteinen, som er glimmerskifer og glimmergneis, tilhørende Helgelandsdekket. Steinen er tatt ut til lokalt bruk. De ultramafiske linsene i Raudskaret er små, med små volum av dem omvandlet til kleberstein. Lokaliteten ligger ca. 900 moh. Den har liten økonomisk intersse som annet enn materiale til suvenirproduksjon. Mineralogi Hovedmineralene i klebersteinen er talk. I tillegg finnes sannsynligvis litt serpentin og korn av kromitt/magnetitt. Noen få korn av magnesitt kan ses lokalt.

Historic

Rekstad (1924) har en ultramafittlinse på sitt kart nær Raudskaret. Det er noen få spor i de to koordinatsatte lokalitetene etter uttak av kleberstein med handsag, og en eneste innrisning av initialer. Sporene stammer sannsynligvis fra de siste 50 årene.

Location

Lokaliteten ligger i det som lokalt er kalt Raudskaret (og delvis Raudklumpskaret), vest for Grublandshaugen i Susendalen. Lokaliteten ligger ca. 4 km fra Grublandshaugen og ca. 900 moh. Adkomst er å gå rett opp lia mot Sandskarfjellet hvor det ikke er sti. Grublandshaugen ligger ca. 22 km sør for Hattfjelldal sentrum på Rv. 804 til Susendalen.

Abstract:

The territory here descibed embraces the mountain district of Southern Helgeland between the Swedish-Norwegian frontier and the velley of Vefsn, and between 65 and 66 N. It is an inland region which nowhere reaches the sea. It is characterised by high mountains, deep valleys and many lakes of which the largest is Røsvatn. This lake covers an area of 191 square kilometres. The ignous rocks occuring here are granite, gabbro, peridotite and serpentine. Of these the granite has the greatest extension. It has for the most part a banded or streaked structure, due to pressure, crushing and shearing during the formation of the Norwegian mountain-chain. The granite occurs frequently as large laccolites, intruded at different levels, the one above the other. It often intersects the adjacent schists in dikes and veins in all directions. Partly it shows a porphyritic structure, with large crystals of feldspar scattered through the ground-mass. These crystals consist for the most part of microline. Much of the granite is light-coloured. Of dark minerals it contains only a small percentage of biotite; but here occur also darker varieties of granite which contain more biotite and some hornblende.
