Magnetite occurs in irregular lenses (Sample JSFE1412) in a partly altered ultramafic body, which comprises a minor hill in the area, and is surrounded by mica schist. Minor trenches have been made in the ultramafic rock that partly is serpentinitized . Carbonate veins, minor talc and needles of tremolite also occur (Sample JSFE1426). The iron deposit at Lian is not classified as iron formation.
