Skjerpet ligger øst for Kjellermya i et heiområde som kalles Fellerdalsheia av de lokale. En skogsbilvei kan følges fra Brosdalgårdene opp mot forekomsten. Det er sprengt ut en skjæring og en liten, vannfylt synk på østsiden av en liten kolle. Skjæringen er orientert tilnærmet N-S i lengde av ca. 6 m, og i vest er det en opptil 4 m høy vegg. Nedenfor skjerpet har avrenning medført et mindre forgiftningsfelt. Sulfidmineraliseringen består i hovedsak av linser og årenettverk med kobberkis og magnetkis i grovkornet amfibolmatriks i en amfibolittisk bergart som dels er silifisert. Opptil 30 cm mektige linser av massiv magnetkis og kobberkis er observert. Amfibolitten er trolig en deformert variant av middelskornet metagabbro som dominerer berggrunnen omkring skjerpet.
