Skjerpet befinner seg omlag 700 m øst for Gilså gruve og består av en vannfylt synk med 3x2 m i omrisse. Tipphaugen ved skjerpet er omlag 100 kbm, det vil si at synken må være maksimalt 15 m dyp. Det er en 0.5 m mektig mineralisert sone blottlagt i nord- og sørveggen av synken. Mineraliseringen består av slirer og linser av kobberkis med underordnet magnetkis og litt sinkblende i klorittisert gråvakke/sandstein med en del kvarts.
