Forekomsten ble indikert ved flymålinger over området i 1959 og deretter fastslått ved EM-målinger på bakken i 1965. det ble funnet fire tydelige ledere innenfor et område på ca. 1000 x 500 m. Forekomsten ble undersøkt med boringer i 1965 og 1966 med sju borhull, basert på de geofysiske anomaliene. Alle de sju borhullene traff rik mineralisering men av begrenset mektighet. Det ble videre boret ett hull i 1968. Den beste anomalien, anomali A, ble undersøkt med fire av hullene. De ble satt med 200 m avstand langs lengdeaksen til anomaliene. Det ble funnet mineralisering i to nivåer i to av borhullene: Borhull 62: 2.2.m 1.14% Cu, 0.11% Zn, Borhull 80: 2.2 m 0.93% Cu, 0.01% Zn, Borhull 81: 2.2 m 1.50% Cu, 0.68% Zn og 2.2 m 0.44% Cu, 0.42% Zn og Borhull 142: 2.2 m 0.93% Cu, 2.26% Zn, 0.53% Pb og 2.2 m 0.31% Cu, 2.81% Zn, 0.85% Pb. I de to borhullene med to soner er den øvre sonen anriket i kobber og den endre rikere i sinkblende og blyglans. Malmberegning utfra fire borhull er ikke mulig å gjøre, men den geofysiske indikasjonen gir et areal på ca. 250 000 m2. Med en tykkelse på 2.2 m for de to sonene gir dette et anslag på ca. 1.9 Mt ressurser.

Abstract:
Ved EM flymålinger utført av ABEM, Stockholm i 1959 ble det observert anomalier ved Lobekken ca. 2 km syd for Røsjøen. Senere utførte Kobberverket EM gun-målinger i området og røsket et par steder. I den ene røsken ble det funnet noe kis. Ved den foreliggende undersøkelse var oppgaven å foreta en nærmere kartlegging av de ledende soner som opptrer i feltet og eventuelt legge fram forslag til borhull. Ved målingene ble det påvist flere plateformete og relativt flattliggende ledere av varierende utstrekning. Det ble umiddelbart framlagt forslag til borhullsplasseringer. Hittil er det boret to vertikale hull til ca. 60 meter dyp. I det første ble det truffet flere tynne striper magnetkis i dyp 40-56 meter og 20 cm god kobberimpregnasjon ved 57,5 meter. I det andre hull ble det funnet 11 cm kobberimpregnasjon ved 33,6 meter.

Description
Lobekken skjerp ligger på snaufjellet NV for Lomyra. Skjerpet består av en vannfylt liten røsk (5 x 3 m og 1 m dyp) i en skrent i nordenden av ei myr. En fullstendig overgrodd liten tipp gjør det vanskelig å finne representativt materiale. Det som fantes og ble prøvetatt, var uregelmessige aggregater av magnetkis og kobberkis assosiert med kvarts i klorittrik skifer. Sidebergarten er en massiv, homogen amfibol-klorittskifer (grønnstein).

En røskegrøft, ca 8 m lang og opptil 1 m dyp i ØV retning, helt sør på Lomyra. Ikke noe fastfjell å se. På tippen opptrer klorittskifer , dels silisifisert og med spredte mm-store biotittporfyroblaster. Noe rust stedvis, men ingen synlige sulfider.
