Description
Rognåsenforekomsten er undersøkt med tre skjerp over en avstand på 60 m i nord-sør retning. Hovedskjerpet består av en vannfylt synk som er 4x3 m i omriss. Det er en ca. 50 kbm tipp ved skjerpet. Det er lite mineralisering å se i blotningene ved skjerpet. Det er 1-2 cm tynne årer av vesentlig kobberkis med litt sinkblende. Disse opptrer i en silisifisert sandstein. MINDEX ASA tok tre prøver i 1998 som viste 0.34-2.3 % Cu, 0.23-1.8 % Zn, <0.01 % Pb, 0.4-12 ppm Ag, 0.02-0.6 ppm Au.

Skjerp 2 ligger i strøkretningen 20 m sør for hovedskjerpet og består av en 4x3.5 m vannfylt synk/grop. Det er ca. 20 kbm tippmateriale rundt synken. Det er en tynn rustsone i nordkanten av skjerpet som inneholder tynne årer med kobberkis, sinkblende og magnetkis. Det er også en liten røsk 8 m sørøst for dette skjerpet. Her er det noen få tynne sulfidårer.

Skjerpet ligger i åpent landskap med lauvskog, dvergbjørk og einerkratt og er ikke lett å finne. Det består av en delvis gjengrodd røskegrøft 1.5 m bred og 9 m lang på tvers av strøket. Dybden er 0 til 1 m. Det er ingen tipphaug av betydning. Det er en totalt gjengrodd røskegrøft av tilsvarende dimensjoner 30 m sør for denne. Blotning i den førstnevnte grøften viser uregelmessige rustsoner og kvartslinser i semipelittisk skifer. Mineralisering består av meget svak impregnasjon av magnetkis med noe kobberkis i skiferen og uregelmessige, opptil cm-store aggregater av magnetkis, kobberkis og sinkblende i tilknytning til kvartslinsene. Skjerpet ligger nesten 300 m sørvest for hovedskjerpet.
