Skjerpet ligger i tett granskog, rett sør for en kraftlinje i sørøstskråningen av Svartåsen. Det består av et 2,5 m dypt og 2,5 m bredt innhugg i grønnstein. Skjerpet er vannfylt og opptil 1,8 m høyt over vannspeilet. Sulfidmineraliseringen består av linser med disseminert til semi-massiv svovelkis i kvartsrik matriks i grønnsteinen.
