Forekomsten ligger sørøst for Holmevann og 250 m nord for Surtetjønn. Den ble drevet av Skibdalen Kobberverk i perioden 1645-53. Mindre undersøkelsesarbeider ble gjennomført 1910-18. En ca. 40 m lang skrånende stoll med retning ca. 25º er anlagt. En sjakt med vegger på 4x7 m og dyp 9 m, er drevet ned til denne etter 32 m. Mindre skjerp/synker finnes videre nordover i strøkretningen. Sør for dagåpningen er en 20-30 m lang dagskjæring. Dominerende bergart er en fin- til middelskornet amfibolitt som dels er noe biotittisert og klorittisert. Den har svakt fall mot øst. Kobbermieraliseringer finnes i og rundt kvartsganger/-linser som dels er deformerte og er orientert normalt foliasjonen i amfibolitten. Disse er opptil 30 cm brede og få meter lange. Bornitt og kobberglans opptrer disseminert og som strenger/aggregater i disse. Kobbermineraliserte kvartsganger finnes igjen inne i stollen.
