Stavsmyr ligger rett sør for en stor myr og på begge sider av veien til Kisgruva. Forekomsten består av en rekke grøfter som tydeligvis er drevet langs de hydrotermale kalkspatgangene som gjennomsetter gneiss i området. Den største grøften ligger på østsiden av veien og består i sør av en grøft som først går 8 m i øst-vest retning før den dreier mot nord i 20 meters lengde. Tippvolumet er her omlag 360 kbm. Ikke noe mineralisert materiale å finne. På vestsiden av veien 60 m unna er det en 10 m lang, 2 m bred og inntil 3 m dyp grøft, orientert i øst-vest retning (retning 100 °). Her finnes blokker som inneholder tynne kalsittganger, dels såkalt skiferspat, med spredte aggregater av grovkornet blyglans, enkelte linser med kobberkis og spor av sinkblende (Prøve BU0284.01). 40 m videre vestover er det en tilsvarende grøft, også orientert øst-vest. Det er også røsket i overflaten mellom disse. 70 m sør for sistnevnte er det en liten vannfylt synk, 5 x 3 m i omriss og kanskje 4 m dyp. Her er bergartene svært rustne og består av svak pyritt- impregnasjon i granatholdig sericittisk kvartsskifer (fahlbånds-mineralisering). Det er også noe kobberkis i mm-tykke slirer/streker (prøve BU0284.02).
