The Nyseter deposit was discovered in 1888, and test mining and regular production were intermittently carried out by various companies until 1925 from 3-4 deep, open pits and two adits. The sphalerite-dominated mineralisation occurs in several, parallel layers and lenses, up to 20 m thick, and is located in skarn altered limestone due to Permian granitic intrusions. |

Hensikten med målingene var å kartlegge de kjente malmforekomster og å finne evnetuelle nye. Målingene har gitt 3 hovedanomalier: 1. Gruveanomalien. 2. En anomali beliggende 100 - 150 meter nord for gruveanomalien. Antagelig skyldes anomalien samme type mineralisering som i gruben, men er trolig fattigere. 3. En nordlig anomali som neppe skyldes økonomisk interessant mineralisering. |

Abstract: | |
Diamantboring i Nyseter gruve har påvist postmagmatisk omvandling både i Grua granitten og de tilstøtende meta-sedimenter som er omvandlet til granat-pyroksen, pyroksen og epidot-amfibol skarn. Det ble ikke funnet nye partier med sinkblendemalm. De mineraliserte partier som ble påvist besto hovedsakelig av pyritt og magnetitt. Særlig kvartsbreksjen i Borhull 3 var anriket på disse mineraler og dette forklarer sannsynligvis den høye IP-effekt i den østlige del av gruvefeltet. Borhullene har klart avgrenset mulige malmreserver til under Tveitmarkstollens nivå i den vestlige del av gruvefeltet. |
