Antoinette mine is situated a few hundred metres north of Storgruven mine marked on the 1:50 000 topographic map and about 100 m east of the dirt road leading to Lake Svarttjennet. It is represented by a water-filled open pit measuring 6 m x 16 m at surface and being connected with underground workings at 8 m depth and probably below water level to unknown depth. A shallow pit have also been worked on the same vein about 60 m west of the main pit. Most of the former Dagny mine is covered by the road and only two small workings are left on both sides of the road southwest of Antoinette. Both mines were worked on Cu-sulphides occurring in thin (0,01-1 m) ductile shear zones, developed in grey coarse-grained and weakly gneissic granodiorite. The granodiorite yields an U-Pb zircon age of 1734 Ma (Mansfeld 1998). The Antoinette mine was worked on a 20 m long and well mineralised segment of a ductilely deformed quartz veins trending ENE-WSW (Ihlen 1995). The steeply dipping mylonitic quartz-vein carries often associated sheared aplite dykes along their margin. The mineralisation comprises shear-plane stringers, fracture fillings and disseminated aggregates of mainly chalcopyrite, bornite, molybdenite and scheelite. Microscopic examinations also reveal the presence of electrum (~20 mm) intergrown with the Cu-sulphides. Some fine-grained molybdenite also occurs in the aplite dykes. Analyses of grab samples yield up to 2,3 g/t Au and 175 g/t Ag. The Dagny mine was worked on several ductile shear zones in the granodiorite. The epidote-, chlorite- and calcite-bearing shear zones contain disseminated chalcopyrite, bornite, magnetite and minor molybdenite.
