Skjerpet ligger i bjørkeskog ca. 700 m NNV for Skarpåsvangen seter. Det består av en 5 m lang og 2 m bred vannfylt grøft som stort sett er gjengrodd. Tippvolumet anslås til 25 kbm. På tippen opptrer vesentlig klorittskifer som dels er svakt impregnert med mm-store euhedrale pyrittkuber. Rikeste mineralisering opptrer i sericitt-kvartsskifer og består av mm-store korn av pyritt som dels er anriket i mm-cm-tykke bånd og slirer. Bergartene er tett småfoldet og det er utviklet en kraftig lineasjon som kontrollerer malmen. Retningen på denne er 248/30, mens foliasjonen er 240/61. Det er en blotning i vestsiden av grøfta bestående av skifrig amfibol-klorittskifer, sannsynligvis metabasalt.
