Forekomsten ligger på vestsida av elva som følger en forkastning mellom proterozoiske gneiser i vest og Kirkebyfeltets hornfels i øst. Skjerpet ligger ved en sti som fører fram til en gangbru over elva. Det består av en 12 m lang dagskjæring med retning 295° og har en opptil 5 m høy vegg i vest. Sulfidmineraliseringene består av kraftig disseminasjon av svovelkis i en kvarts- og kvarts-feltspatrik bergart, og er svært forskjellig fra de andre mineraliseringene i Kirkebyfeltet.
