Forekomsten ligger noen hundre meter opp i lia fra Olderneset. Den utgjør en opp til 5m tykk steiltstående grafittskifer som har et utgående på flere hundre meter langs strøket. Grafitten er flakig og av god kvalitet. Gehalten er også bra. Forekomsten ble undersøkt av Skaland grafittverk i 1940-årene og av Kropfmühl i 1953. Forekomsten er økonomisk interessant, men ligger tett opp til bebyggelsen i Spansdalen. Grafittskiferen er ganske radioktiv og lokalt måles over 50000 imp./sek. med KNIRPS.
