The Porsvann intrusion is c. 1 km long and less than 100 m thick. It shows a transition from meta-pyroxenite to metagabbro, indicating an overall layering. NGU drilled four holes totaling 357.5 m in the body in 1992. The sulphides and other metallic minerals found in polished sections are: pyrrhotite (major phase (>10%): pyrite, pentlandite, chalcopyrite and magnetite (subsidiary phases (1-10%). The grades reach 13 ppm Pt + Pd with a Pd:Pt ratio of 3.3 – 4.3. Gold grades are 0.1 – 0.3 ppm. The best drillhole intersections contained 43m grading 1.2 ppm Pt + Pd, including 15.2 m at 2.1 ppm. Copper grades are generally in the range 100 – 5000 ppm, in some sections lower than those of Pd. |

Abstract: | |
Rapporten omfatter geologiske- og geofysiske undersøkelsert i et område ved Porsvann PGE/Cu-forekomst. Den geofysiske undersøkelsen bestod i kombinerte elektriske målinger (indusert polarisasjon, ledningsevne og SP). Den geofysiske undersøkelsen har vist at det innenfor interessante meta-pyrok- senittområdet nord for vannet er tre mineralliseringer av betydning. Strøk- utstrekningen er ca. 75 m for de to sterkeste sonene og ca. 200 m for den svakeste sonen. Ingen av sonene går ut i vannet. Dyptgående for den ene eller begge av de to sterkeste sonene er trolig minst 100 m. Utenfor dette området er det i tillegg påvist mineraliseringer både i gabbroen i vest og i amfibo- litten i øst. Disse synes å være uten interesse da det ikke er påvist palla- dium i mineraliseringene i disse bergartene. |
