Området ligger øst for øverste Nesåvatnet (Drikkevatnet), 3-4 km sørøst for nedlagte Skorovas Gruber. Det er ikke registrert skjerp i området, men en rekke soner med jernformasjoner; både sulfid- og oksid-facies. Disse kommer dels fram på resultatene fra helikoptermålingene som ble utført i 1994. Liknende jernformasjoner finnes både lengre mot sørvest, omkring Nesåfylin, og videre mot nordøst; Blåhammaren, Havdalstjørna og vest for Ingjelsvatnet. Jernformasjonene er opptil 3-4 m mektige og består av massiv pyritt, massiv magnetitt, pyritt-disseminert klorittbergart og chert, som dels er båndet. Gradvise overganger mellom disse bergartene finnes både lateralt og normalt strøket. De opptrer dels langs grensen mellom mørk jernrik grønnstrein og lys grønnstein. Disse jernformasjonene er fattige på basemetaller.

Abstract:

Helikoptermålinger er utført over Grongfeltet i 1993 og 94. Målingene omfatter følgende kartblad: 1924 I Jomafjellet, 1924 II Limingen, 1924 III Tunnsjøen, 1924 IV Røyrvik, 1824 I Namsskogan, 1824 II Skorovatn, 1824 III Harran, 1823 I Andorsjøen og 1823 IV Grong. Måleområdets utstrekning er 2000 kvadratkilometer. Totalt ble det målt 14200 profilkilometer med en profilavstand på 100, 200 og 400 meter. Målingene er utført som et ledd i kartlegging av ressurspotensialet i Grongfeltet. Det er utført magnetiske, elektromagnetiske (EMEX-2 og VLF) og radiometriske målinger. Rapporten beskriver innsamling og prosessering av målte data, samt utstyr som ble benyttet. Vedlagt rapporten foreligger kart i målestokk ca. 1:400 000. Kart i målestokk 1:50 000 og 1:20 000 (EM Profilkurvekart) kan bestilles fra NGU.
