| Description |
| Store mengder skifer, mest takskifer, er tatt ut her i årenes løp. Driften er nå i ferd med å ebbe ut. Bergarten er finkornet kvartsittskifer med god spaltbarhet. Det er en meget solid skifer som spalter i tykkelser på ca. 1 cm, og egner seg således godt til takskifer. Etter at Bergensbanen ble åpnet 1890-årene, ble skifer fra Voss sendt med jernbane til store deler av Sør-Norge. I dag sees bruddkanten mot nordøst, loddrett, ca. 30-40 m høyde, og ganske enorme skrottipper ned mot sørvest. |
