| Forekomsten ligger 3 km nord for Sanddøla, mellom Fremstfjellet og Gaizervatn. Det som henledet oppmerksomheten mot området var nærneten til molybden-lokalitetene i Fremstfjellet, og at bekkesedimenter hadde opptil 42 ppm Mo og middels høye Cu-verdier. En kjente også til at det var store rustsoner i området, særlig omkring Stjernetjern, øst for Skardfjelltoppen. Bergartsmiljøet består av grønnsteiner med intrusjoner av trondhjemitt. Nord i feltet kommer en stor granodioritt inn. Grønnsteinene har også lokaliteter med jaspis og chert. Det er flere rustsoner i grønnsteinene som fører disseminert svovelkis. En av sonene peker seg imidlertid ut p.g.a. en 0,5 m mektig massiv svovelkis/kobberkismalm. Analyse: 2.22 % Cu, 0,11 % Zn og 5 ppm Ag. Det er denne lokaliteten Grong Gruber konsentrerte aktiviteten om. Molybden-forekomster er ikke kjent i Skardfjellet. Geofysiske målinger (VLF) har påvist flere anomalidrag. Grong Grubers undersøkelser i området ga som resultat at den østre del av Skardfjellet kunne betraktes som tungmellfri. SV-over fra Y-tjern er det rapportert om et mer eller mindre sammenhengende drag med Cu-førende soner. Kobberkisen opptrer på stikk og som spredte korn i grønnstein. Dette draget strekker seg mellom koordinatene 403750 7154700 og 404375 7154950 (ED50). Den tidligere nevnte svovelkis/kobberkismalmen ligger i en tenkt forlengelse av Cu-draget. Grong Gruber har analysert en mengde prøver. Eks. fra årsrapport 1985: Cu (%) Zn (%) ------------------ 0,00 0,01 0,00 0,03 0,19 0,03 0,24 0,18 0,00 0,10 0,00 0,07 0,04 0,21 Den massive sulfidsonen ble ikke påvist ved befaring i 1994 av NGU, men en rekke 20-30 m brede, NØ-SV orienterte, markerte rustsoner finnes både i skifrig, klorittrik grønnstein og i lyse kvarts-serisitt rike bergarter; omvandlet grønnstein eller keratofyr. Disse er prøvetatt, se prøvelikalitetene. |
