The occurrence of Flittig pike is an 10 m long, 3 m wide and 3 m deep old excavation pit. We updated the GPS coordinates. The occurrence is located at the contact between the syenites from the Siljan intrusion and the Skien B1 basalts. The rock is characterized by a large concentration of euhedral zircon crystlas, constituting 15% modal of the rock and associated with diopside (40%), magnetite and hemo-ilmenite (30%), feldspar (10%), accessory apatite, biotite, chlorite, and quartz. Whole rock analyses indicate concentration of more than 2 wt% zirconium, around 2000 ppm Y+TREE and more than 1000 ppm niobium. The occurrence is very small and not significant economically; however, such anomalous concentrations in high field strength elements are worth recording.
