Enkleste adkomst er langs tursti fra Skjølseterveien som er en sidevei til Hoensvannsveien. Forekomsten består av en ca. 60 m lang, smal dagskjæring langs nordvestskråningen av Frågåttåsen. Skjæringa er orientert omtrent NV-SØ (300°), vanligvis 0,5-1 m bred og opptil 2 m høy. Ved koordinatpunktet for forekomsten finnes en flere meter dyp vannfylt synk. Skjæringa følger en kvartsgang som sentralt i forekomsten er 20-25 cm bred og har retning 118° med steilt fall mot sør (85°). Den består av grovkornet melkehvit kvarts med disseminasjon og strenger av kobberkis. Gangen skjærer foliasjonen i en amfibolitt med liten vinkel. I amfibolitten finnes flere mindre kvartsganger som dels er rustfarget og boudinerte. Lokalt er amfibolitten kraftig foliert langs disse.
