Right behind the barn at Molberg, a 40m long adit runs SSW. Production probably dates from before 1880 according to the owner. The tailings heap has been levelled out and is covered with soil. The adit wasn¿t entered due to water and a fender to protect cattle from a shaft deeper inside. The few tailings blocks available (consisting of greenschist and/or amphibolite) only show weak mineralization with disseminated and veined pyrrhotite (sample 01). The rock face over the adit contains a 0.5m thick irregularly shaped rusted band exposed over 10-15m. The greenschist contains both pyrrhotite and pyrite, disseminated and in thin veinlets (sample 02). A few cm-thick quartz veins run parallel to the rusted band. The card file in the Bergarkiv says `presumably 7wt% Ni¿, which seems highly improbable from these field observations. As no chalcopyrite was observed either, it seems doubtful whether this is a Ni-Cu deposit at all.
