Grunneieren på Skavhaug påviste stedet hvor skjerping har foregått. Det ligger nå under et jorde, nær det SØ-re hjørnet: 5 m fra jordets østgrense og 30 m fra sørgrensen. I jordekanten øst for skjerpepunktet ligger det noen mineraliserte blokker som viser at mineralisert mektighet er på over 30 cm, og består av finkornet massiv magnetkis med små (<5 mm), spredte svovelkisøyne og enkelte kvartslinser. Her ligger også blokker med hvit kvartsitt med fuchsitt. Også grønnskifer og leirskifer med magnetkis-disseminasjon (tilnærmet semimassiv). Mot sør, i bekken, er det blottet grafittskifer.
