Forekomsten ligger nede ved sjøen i Nordalsfjorden, langs veien mellom Eidsdal og Norddal. Forekomsten har vært i drift av Bjørum, men ble nedlagt som følge av for dårlige kai muligheter. Det har vært en betydelig drift underjord, med 3 nivåer med rom og pillar bryting. Øvre nivå ender i et dagbrudd som er 50 x 30 meter. Befaring under jord viser at forekomsten er drevet fram til omliggende gneis flere steder derfor anses forekomsten i dag å være tilnærmet utdrevet over havnivå.
