In the summer of 1976, A/S Sydvaranger made an exploration survey of both Store Ste and Lille Ste, including geological field mapping, VLF measurements and sampling. NGU has made a geophysical survey (IP, SP, VLF and magnetics) of the area N of Lånivatnet lake in 1979-1980 (Dalsegg 1980, 1981). NGU also drilled 14 holes in 1980 with a Packsack drill in the impregnated zone at Lille Ste. The Vaddasgaisak Metagabbro contains a number of rusted zones of moderate size in the area around Store Ste and Lille Ste, consisting of impregnations by pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, and pentlandite. Results from geological and exploration surveys haven¿t been published. Henceforth, apart from the geophysical measurements, little is known about the mineralizations. Results from A/S Sydvaranger¿s 1976 profile sampling receives little attention in their annual report: ¿Ni content are occasionally up to 0.3wt%, a handful lies between 0.1-0.2wt%, whereas the bulk shows contents lower than 0.06wt% Ni.¿. The impregnated zones at Lille Ste give several strong geophysical anomalies, but the conductivity at Øvervatnet lake (TR0356) is considerably higher. The anomalies at Lille Ste do not extend very long along the strike. Field observations indicate that impregnation continues outside the SP-anomalies, suggesting that the anomalies merely represent the strongest mineralized parts. Analysis of drilled material reveals low Ni and Cu contents for all holes. Even when only few anomalies have been assessed by drilled sample analysis, the mineralization is probably to weak to be of economic interest. |

IP- og VLF-målinger ved Lille Ste og Øvervatnet, Nordreisa |
;Norges geologiske undersøkelse;FAGRAPPORT;NGU-rapport; No.1750/47D;9 pages |
Abstract: | |

Geofysiske målinger Ste i Reisadalen |
;Norges geologiske undersøkelse;FAGRAPPORT;NGU-rapport; No.1800/47E;9 pages |
Abstract: | |
