Granittisk pegmatitt som stryker NV-SØ langs åssiden på østsiden av dalføret ved Skinnfjordene. Pegmatitten er ca. 160m lang og 30m bred og gjennomsetter grå felsiske båndgneiser (Breivik 1984). En mindre forsøksdrift er anlagt nær sørvest-grensen av kroppen. Bruddet er ovalt, med lengste akse parallelt kontakten. Det er ca. 30m langt, 20m bredt og opptil 7m dypt. Pegmatitten faller steilt mot NØ. Den består av 1-1,5m lange rosa til blek rosa K-feltspat krystaller og opptil 0,5m lange plagioklas krystaller som er sammenvokst med hovedsakelig røkkvarts og K-feltspat samt litt plagioklas, biotitt og muskovitt. Pegmatittens terrengmessige plassering og dimensjoner tilsier at den skulle ha et stort driftpotensial.

Abstract:
The geochemistry of heavy-mineral concentrates panned from stream sediments on Ringvassøy is reported. The presently known occurrences of gold inside the RGB comprise mostly quartz-vein mineralisation with a low economic potential. The stratabound Au-As-Zn mineralisation at Sørdalshøgda-South is the only one that, under favourable conditions, can be of economic interest. All of these gold occurrences were detected by the panning method together with most of the deposits carrying high concentrations of Ag, Cu, Zn, As and Sb. The geochemistry of heavy-mineral concentrates shows that the metal enrichment is mainly confined to rivers inside the RGB, whereas those in the DTC and the Caledonides carry normal background levels.
