The Gunnarheimen deposit is hosted by a carbonate-mica schist, interlayered with calcite marble. It is an extensive magnetite mineralization, which can be followed for at least 9 km along strike. The richer part of the deposit is 3000 m long, 10 m thick and has been followed to 150 m depth. With a specific weight of 3 g/ccm the tonnage is 13.5 Mt, which contains 18 % Fe and 0.99 % P.
