The pit at UTM coordinates 588110 7693920 is 3H2m wide and 1m deep, and has produced 5m3 of tailings. The pit is located where the mineralized gabbro lense is thickest at about 5m. The medium grained hornblende gabbro hosts disseminated pyrrhotite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, and pentlandite (samples 01,02,03). Locally, the sulphides occur as lumps (sample 04). A 15m more toward the N, another pit of 1m3 has been blasted in the same mineralized lense. Between these two pits, a 3m thick granitic vein cuts through the gabbro. The mineralization can be followed over a NS running stretch of 30-40m length. The surrounding country rock also consists of gabbro, intensely cross cut by granitic veins in different orientations.

Ostervandets kisforekomst, Senja.
;Norges geologiske undersøkelse;FAGRAPPORT;Bergarkivet; No.BA 1247;1 pages
Abstract:

;Norges geologiske undersøkelse;FAGRAPPORT;Bergarkivet; No.BA 859;1 pages
