Forekomsten opptrer antagelige på et høyere tektonostratigrafisk nivå enn de andre større sulfidforekomstene i Fundsjøformasjonen. Den består av to vannfylte, mindre synker med sidevegger 2x4 m og 4x4 m. De ligger ca. 10 m fra hverandre i strøkretningen som er ca. N-S, og sulfidmineraliseringen har steilt fall mot vest. Den opptrer i lys grågrønn, finkornet, felsiske metavulkanitt i overgangen mellom middelskornet, dolerittisk grønnstein i ligg og finkornet, båndet felsisk metavulkanitt i heng. Mineraliseringen er ca. 4 m mektig og består av disseminert svovelkis og mindre linser med semi-massiv pyritt og sinkblende. På tippene finnes også blokker med finkornet, massiv pyritt, sinkblende og kobberkis malm som viser at den massive sonen er over 20 cm mektig. Øytrø er mer anriket på gull enn de andre forekomstene i Fundsjøgruppen i Meråker-området med flere prøver som inneholder omkring 2 g/t Au. Totalt tippvolum er omkring 35 m2.
