Vestmalmen i Fosdalen gruve, som ble utdrevet i siste halvdel av 1970-årene, strekker seg fra Malm og ca. 6 km vestover, omtrent til innsjøen Holden. (Nåværende brytning pågår på Østmalmen, mer enn 3 km øst for Malm.) Mineraliseringen på Aunekammen, vest for luftesjakt, er utgående av Vestmalmen. Det er her noen få gjengrodde grøfter, nærmest uten blotning. For nærmere omtale, se NT0179 Fosdalen.

Abstract:
De fleste kjente kismalmer (lagbundne massive sulfider) i Nord-Trøndelag er befart og analysert på edelmetaller og en serie andre elementer for å peke ut eventuelle provinser/subprovinser hvor edelmetaller eller andre økonomiske bestanddeler kan ha stor betydning. De undersøkte provinsene er Stjørdal-Selbu- området, Meråkerfeltet, Levanger-Verdal-Snåsa-området og Grongfeltet. Gull-anrikede kismalmer er påvist i den sydlige delen av Grongfeltet (Godejord- Skiftesmyr-Rosset) og i visse deler av Fundsjøgruppen i det vestlige Meråker- feltet. Deler av det østlige Meråkerfeltet (Lillefjell-Storhusmannsberget) inneholder forekomster med høye basemetall-innhold.
