Innen Bjørnefjellformasjonen finnes flere horisonter med kvartsbåndet jernmalm. En sone finnes nær Pesktindkonglomeratet ved Bjørnevatnet, Husvatnet og Sandbotnvatnet, og er funnet som spredte linser på stort sett under 1 m mektighet. Disse er stort sett uten amfibolitt/hornblendegneis. Malmkvaliteten er stort sett svak, med 5 - 20 % Fe magn.
