4 skjerp i skarnsonen. Det største er en vannfylt synk med ca. 100 m3 tipp. Blottet ca. 4 m med båndet hedenbergitt-granat-skarn med mm-mektige årer av sinkblende, magnetkis og kobberkis parallelt strøket (prøve 01 og 02). Et knakkprøveprofil på tvers av 4 m utgående viser 4.0 % Zn, 0.11 % Cu og 0.003 % Pb (Olerud 1979). To analyser av Spross (1956): 6.2 % Zn, 0.1 % Cu og 1.0 %, 2.4 % Cu. Hengbergarten er glimmerskifer.

Abstract:
Formålet med undersøkelsene var å kartlegge geologisk området Flatlia-Kalseter og å undersøke malmforekomstene i området. En rekke Cu- og Zn-mineraliseringer fins i en hedenbergittskarnbergart som kan følges mer eller mindre sammenhengende fra Kalseter til Båsmoen i Rana. Skarnsonen antas opprinnelig å være et Cu-holdig basisk sediment som ble isokjemisk metasomatisk omvandlet til kalksilikater og senere breksiert og remobilisert. Magnetkis-kopperkis-mineralisering opptrer som nesten massiv breksje-malm eller som impregnasjon i skarnet. Ingen av de undersøkte forekomstene ansees for å være økonomisk interessante, men skarnsonen fra Flatlia mot Båsmoen kan inneholde større skarnkropper med lavprosentlig Cu-impregnasjon.
