Beliggenhet. En rekke små skjerp ligger ca. 7 km rett sydover fra Skorovatn langs nordvestsida av Øvre Nesåvatnet, lokalt kalt Tredjevatnet. Geologi. Mineraliseringene opptrer i et område på 3-4 km2 med en rekke rustsoner/-flekker som i hovedsak skyldes svak svovelkis-disseminasjon i omvandlet grønnstein og sure metavulkanitter; kvartskeratofyr. Tynne lag med massiv/semi massiv pyritt (vasskis, vanligvis < 1 m) finnes stedvis og er dels knyttet til de sure metavulkanittene; både pyroklaster og massive strømmer. I tillegg opptrer på antatt samme stratigrafiske nivå som vasskisene, lag med ekshalativ chert. Disse varierer fra hematittrike (jaspis) til magnetittrike (blåkvarts) og til rene chertlag. De er vanligvis fri for sulfider. Cherten ligger vanligvis over horisontene med sulfiddisseminasjon. Under disse finnes pyroklastisk materiale. På grunn av overdekke og deformasjon er det vanskelig å knytte de enkelte sulfid- og ekshalittmineraliseringene sammen, men det er trolig at de representer primært, lite utholdene lag som opptrer på omtrent samme stratigrafiske nivå. I hovedskjerpet finnes en over 1 m mektig massiv/semi-massiv pyritt sone. Denne kan følges over 100 m langs strøket men tynner ut både mot nord og sør. Mineraliseringene har variable putelavaer og massive lavaer av intermediær karakter i heng og felsiske pyroklaster i ligg. Omfattende kvarts-serisitt omvandling og klorittisering av grønnsteinene er vanlig. I fortsettelsen langs strøket av pyrittsonen finnes rustsoner med svak sulfiddisseminasjon som også er prøvetatt. Kun mindre sprengningarbeider er utført ved de andre skjerpene. De viser at hydrotermal aktivitet har foregått i et vidstrakt område.

Abstract:
Ore occurences of the Grong area: In the period 1910-1918 a great number of ore occurences were discovered in the Grong area. The late state geologist Steinar Foslie mapped the area in the years 1922-1931. Foslie also mapped all claims and occurences and made special field investigations in a few cases. This book presents a survey of all occurences chiefly based on the field observations of Foslie. In addition the present author has done some field work in connection with the three large deposits, Joma, Skorovass, and Gjersvik. The map, Plate 1, shows the areal geology and the location of the occurrences, numbered from 1 to 131. the ore of the occurrences is chiefly pyrite. The larger occurrences also contain some chalcopyrite and sphalerite etc. and the smaller occurrences contain ither pure pyrite with some magnetite. The Joma deposit (No. 1), contains about 15.5 mill. tons of ore. The ore zone forms an arc and is situated within a thick series of greenstones (Fig. 1). The Skorovass mine (No. 2), contains about 7,5 mill. tons of ore. The deposit is situated in a greenstone complex (Fig. 7), and is immediately surrounded by asid tuffs of quartz keratophyric composition (Table 1).

Abstract:
Rapporten oppsummerer undersøkelsene som er utført innenfor prosjektet "Samtolkning av geodata i Grongfeltet" i løpet av 1995, inkludert felt- arbeidet og med de foreløpige resultatene fra dette. Oppfølgende undersøkelser har i hovedsak bestått av geofysiske bakkemålinger (TFEM og Slingram), geologisk kartlegging og fastfjellsprøvetaking. Kjerne- boring ble utført i den nordlige delen av Grongfeltet,i Kirma-området, med to borehull (totalt ca. 300 m), og årsakene til de tidligere påviste elek- triske anomaliene ble påvist. Men de foreløpige resultatene fra boringene gir ingen indikasjoner på funn av sulfidmineraliseringer som kan ha økonomisk verdi. Oppfølging av EM-anomalier i den sørlige delen av feltet har i hovedsak ført til funn av ekshalittmineraliseringer med lavt innhold av kobber og sink. Videre oppfølgende undersøkelser foreslåes i to områder, sørvest for Tunnsjø- flyin og vest for øvre Nesåvatn. Berggrunnskartlegging i målestokk 1;20 000 er gjennomført i Tunnsjøflyin-området og en ny modell for vulkanittstratigrafien innenfor Gjersvikgruppen er foreslått. En foreløpig arbeidsmodell for den magmatiske og metallogenetiske utviklingen av Gjersvikdekkers bergarter presentert i rapporten. Denne vil testes ved tolkning av kjemiske analyser og aldersdateringer i løpet av 1996. Gravimetriske data er innsamlet for å utføre gravimetriske modellberegninger innenfor Gjersvikdekket. Prosjektet ble presentert ved Prospekteringsmessen i Toronto, Canada i mars 1995, bl.a. med en brosjyre og presentasjon av data ved bruk av pc. Tilbake- meldingene fra møtet har vært positive. Norway Gold Exploration har i løpet av året mutet flere områder i Grongfeltet, og et canadisk juniorselskap vurderer små-skala gruvedrift i den sørlige delen; Skiftesmyr- og Godejord- forekomstene.

Mineraliseringene ligger få hundre meter nordnordvest for Øvre Nesåvatnet (Tredjevatnet) Tilnærmet flattliggende få meter mektige rustsoner i grønnstein nær kontakten til en feltspatporfyr finnes. De er av samme type som i hovedforkomsten og består av pyritt disseminasjon og pyritt i linser/aggregater i grønnstein. Massive sulfidlinser opptrer dels i kontakt med chert.

Mineraliseringen ligger mellom Øvre og Midtre Nesåvatnet få hundre meter nord for elva og 1.5 km sørvest for hovedforekomsten. Den gir en sterk EM-anomali på helikoptermålingene som ble gjennomført i 1994. Mineraliseringene er en båndet jernformasjon som består av både sulfid- (pyritt) og oksid- (magnetitt) facies. Jernformasjonen er 1-3 m mektig og er blottet i en oval struktur med diameter på 100 m. Under denne finnes lys grønnstein mens over denne er blottet lys grågrønn, trolig intermediær metavulkanitt.

Skjerpet ligger på en liten kolle 1 km nordvest for hovedforekomsten og består av en 7 m lang og 0.5 - 1.5 m bred utsprengt røsk. Noen mindre røsker finnes i samme område og er angitt som prøvelokaliteter. Mindre arbeid ble utført i området underledelse av S. Foslie i 1938 før Elkem fortsatte sine undersøkeser midt på 70-tallet. Dominerende bergart er en grå chert med varierende magnetittinnhold. Sulfidene finnes som smale lag (1-10 mm) i denne eller anriket i kvartsårer. Sulfidstikk/-årer finnes også i omkringliggende metavulkanitter. Basemetallinnholdet er lavt, men mengdene chert tyder på en viss hydrotermal aktivitet i området. Gull er noe anriket massiv pyritt.

Skjerpet ligger ca. 1 km sør for hovedforkomsten, på nordsida av den lille markerte toppen Nesåfoten (Gierketjåalhte). En øst-vest orientert, 6 x 0.5 m, grøft er utsprengt. Sona kan følges ca. 30 m. Malmsona er opptil 1 m mektig med massiv pyritt øverst (30-50 cm) og vekslende chert og pyritt under (30-50 cm). Under denne følger chert med lavt magnetitt innhold. Sonen opptrer langs kontakten mellom mørk magnetittførende grønnstein (over) og lys, mafisk fyrisk grønnstein under. Svak anrikning av Zn, opptil 0.1 % er påvist.
