Mineraliseringen ligger 550 m.o.h. øverst i Kvanndalen, rett under toppen av fjellryggen. Den ligger i et utilgjengelig stup. Det er nedsatt noen jernbolter oppover mot den loddrette fjellveggen som er belagt med malakitt, men det er ikke mulig å komme helt opp til mineraliseringa. Prøvetaking er derfor gjort av nedfallsmateriale i ura. Det er usikkert om det er foretatt sprengning på stedet. Malakittbelegget tyder på at mineraliseringen opptrer i en isoklinalfold oppe i stupet (foldeakse ca. 50/30). Bergarten under mineraliseringen er fin- til middelskornet, båndet gneis av amfibolittiske lag vekslende med granittiske (tildels grovkornige). Mineraliseringen består av disseminasjon og uregelmessige stringere av magnetitt, kobberkis og noe svovelkis i en finkornig amfibol- biotittgneis (prøve 01, 02, 03 og 04).
