Denne type malm er kun funnet her i gruveområdet. |

Mineralundersøkelser i Sinklien, Ballangen kommune. |
;Norges geologiske undersøkelse;FAGRAPPORT;NGU-rapport; No.1339/4;14 pages |
Abstract: | |

Sink- og blyforekomster i det nordlige Norge. |

Abstract: | |
The present paper continues the description of zinc-, and lead deposits in Northern Norway, including Nordland, Troms and Finnmark counties. The writer formerly described the zinc- and lead deposits of Helgeland, which is the southern part of Nordland county. In this paper is given a description of the remaining deposits of Northern Norway. Of these the most important are found in Ofoten, the north-eastern region of Nordland county. A few deposits of less importance belong to the Beiarn district in Nordland, a few are located in the counties Troms and Finnmark. In Ofoten the zinc- and lead deposits occur partly within the Archean area, partly within the area of the metamorphosed sediments of the Caledonian mountain range of Cambro-Silurian age. In the Archean area the ores are somtimes found in gabbroidic rocks, partly on fahlbands with pyrrhotite as the predominating ore mineral, partly on veins in or near the fahlbands, sometimes they occur on veins bedded in a biotite schist rich in quartz. The ore deposits connected to the metamorphosed sediments of the mountain range both mineralogically bear a close resemblance to the zinc- and lead deposits of Helgeland, formerly described by the author. |
