Jernlia magnetittforekomst ligger 450 m.o.h og 650m NØ for strandlinjen til Efjorden. Den rike magnetittmalmen har bare en 30m lang strøklengde og er 1-3m tykk. Malmen er bundet til 2 granatskarnlinser 6-8m tykke og minst 50- og 70m lange. Nær granatskarnet inneholder den finkornete granaten spredte 1-6cm tykke magnetitt- hornblendeimpregnerte bånd. Malmarealet til rikmagnetitten er bare (20 ganger 1m) + (10 ganger 3m). Malmen er linjalformet med lengste akse mot dypet, fall 60 grader mot NØ. Det er igjen ca. 6000 tonn magnetittmalm. Forekomsten er egentlig mere en andraditt-granatskarnforekomst med 60-70 volumprosent granat. U. Søvegjarto. Utgående kan følges i ca. 100m fra slepesynk i stor skjæring. Malmen synes å kile ut i begge retninger. Stedvis opptrer meget klar og fin vinrød flusspat i forekomsten. Den gamle gruveveien som går i slynger fra sjøen og opp til forekomsten er delvis gjengrodd, men burde ha stor kulturhistorisk interesse. I. Lindahl/L. Furuhaug -94.
