Her nevnes at noen analyser har gitt 0.3% Ni. Den følger to malmsoner som møtes her i sør (foldeombøyning?). Her fører amf.-bio.-ant.skiferen svak po-diss. over 1m mektighet (10). |

Abstract: | |

Abstract: | |
The map accompanying this paper shows the mines and ore deposits of Northern Norway (the three northern counties), and forms the second and final part of a work started by the late Steinar Foslie in publishing maps and general descriptions of the mines and ore deposits of our country. The amp contains 834 deposits, the greater part of which is situated in the Nordland mining district (IV on the map). To facilitate the use of the map, the deposits (and mines) are marked with circles of different sizes and colours. This map has, however, only four different sizes (instead of eight on Foslie's map). This present map has, however, five colours instead of the only four previously. The sizes refer only to the presumed importance of the deposits or mines. Mines being worked at the present time (1963) are marked with a white line drawn horizontally through the circle. The mines and the deposits are numbered continually for each of the two mining districts. On the map are drawn the boundaries of the different municipalities (herred) and deposits inside these are numbered in succession. The object of this paper is mainly to give a short summary of the different ore types in relation to the geological fromations, and the distribution of the metals. |

Abstract: | |
Of eruptive rocks granite is predominating. More subordinate gabbro rock and at some places perdotite occur. The stratified rocks are schists, limestone and gneiss with a few sections of slaty quartz rock. In the coast district there is a belt of schistose rocks from Gildeskaal northward to Folda and Steigen. In Beiarn and Misvær there is a great area of granite, which from here continues to Saltfjord and Skjerstadfjord. North of these fjords it reappears and now continues to Folda. Here it is, in places, so strongly compressed that it has the appearance of gneiss. In the inner part of Beiarfjord there is an area of limestone and schist, which is strongly penetrated by dikes from the granite field. East of the granite there is a large field of mica-schist with great sections of limestone and marble. It enters the southern part of the map at Misvær and Saltdalen and continues over Valnesfjord and Fauskeidet northward to the inner part of Folda. In the southeastern part the Sulitjelma field is located. Here the schistose-rocks are penetrated by considerable quantities of gabbro-rock and smaller sections of granite. The main area of gabbro is found in the Sulitjelma peaks, which are located east of the map. The granite within the range of the map is pressed out in a liquid state as laccolitic masses. |
