Several minor ultrabasite bodies have intruded a level in mica schists belonging to the Venset Group. Two of them enjoy associated Cu-Ni mineralization, knowingly Kvannåsen and Utvikåsen. The mineralization at Utvikåsen consists of several semi-massive pyrrhotite-magnetite-chalcopyrite-pentlandite lenses occurring along the margin and within the peridotites, closely associated with fine grained schistose amphibolite, generally interpreted as foliated gabbro (Solli et al 1992, bedrock map 1:50.000). The most important mineralization in the northern part is up to 5m thick and can be followed for a length of 40m. Ore minerals include magnetite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite and pentlandite occurring disseminated in peridotite, to a lower degree also in the schistose fine grained amphibolite (03), and may form massive bands and lenses. An adit was driven through the main mineralization and an additional 3m into non-mineralized peridotite. The contact is sharp and oriented 100E/65E. In the direct vicinity of the main deposit, several smaller deposits of similar type occur. All of these have been investigated and mapped.

6m dyp skråsynk (20m3 tipp) som følger mineraliseringens fall mot NV. Det er samme mineralisering som ved stollen, som her har dreid i N-S-retning med 35 graders fall mot vest. Mineraliseringen, som har peridotitt i heng og ligg, er 2m mektig og består av semimassiv po-mt-cpy-ptl i finkornet amfibolitt (09) med massive partier (07 og 08). Mineraliseringen kiler raskt ut mot sør.

Utsprengt 5m3 i skrent i en annen mineralisering som har retning Ø-V og følger lineasjonens stupning mot vest (300/30). Det er en uregelmessig mineralisert linse i hornblendeskifer nær kontakten til peridotitt. Mest po-mt-cpy-ptl-disseminasjon; lokalt semimassiv (10).

Utbrudt 3m3 i skrent i en annen mineralisering. Opptil 1m mektige mineraliserte linser i hornblendeskifer i knusningssone i peridotitten. Finkornet magnetitt er dominerende erts; også anriket i massive bånd av finkornet magnetitt (11). Utover utgående i den 4m høye skrenten kan mineraliseringen kun følges over få meter.

Sprengt ut 2m3 i en opptil 1.5m mektig, få meter lang mineralisert linse (N-S-gående og steil). Overveiende magnetitt og litt magnetkis-kobberkis-pentlanditt som disseminasjon og semimassiv (12) i hornblendeskifer i peridotitt.
