Det er skjerpet over en strøklengde på nesten 3 km i samme nivå som Mos Grube. Mineraliseringstype og sidestein er lik det en finner i Mos Grube. Malmmektigheten er beskjeden, aldri over 1 m. Det meste av mineraliseringen er disseminasjon av relativt grovkornet svovelkis. Den massive malmen består av grovkornet svovelkis i kvartsmatriks. Litt sinkblende finnes som små xenomorfe korn, særlig på sprekker og korngrenser. Aksessorisk opptrer kobberkis og magnetkis. Feltet omtales fra vest mot øst: Malmsonen (svak impregnasjon) er blottet i Tverråga ved UTM 471530 7352650. Skjerp 1, UTM 472170 7352500: 2 m3 tipp fra 4 små røsker. Svovelkis-disseminasjon i granat-hornblendeskifer (prøve 01) med vekslende innhold av hornblende og biotitt. Foliasjon: 250/65. Skjerp 2, UTM 472600 7352400: Røskegrøft med 5 m3 tipp. Hornblendeskifer med litt svovelkis-disseminasjon. Foliasjon: 135/30. Skjerp 3, UTM 472530 7352580: Røsk, 1 m3 tipp. Litt svovelkis-disseminasjon i hornblende-biotittskifer med kvartslinser. Hovedskjerpet, UTM 472700 7352680: 5 små skjerp over en strøklengde på 40 m. Tilsammen 15 m3 tipp. Malmen er grovkornet svovelkis med endel sinkblende (02 og 03). Mektigheten er ca. 1 m. Hengberget er granatglimmerskifer.. Over malmsonen ligger en 30 cm mektig jernhatt. Skjerp 4, UTM 472870 7352650: Liten røsk (1 m3 tipp) i lys muskovittskifer med litt svovelkis-disseminasjon. Skjerp 5, UTM 472950 7352650: 6 m lang røskegrøft med 5 m3 tipp. 30 cm mektig massiv svovelkis-malm i muskovittskifer (04). I heng endel biotitt og granat. Mellom skjerp 5 og 6 er det en liten røsk i en jernhatt. Skjerp 6, UTM 473020 7352610: To små skjerp, 2 m3 tipp. 70 cm mektig, grovkornet svovelkismalm med spor av sinkblende (05). Granatglimmerskifer med litt svovelkis i heng. Skjerp 7, UTM 473330 7352620: Liten røsk med 1 m3 tipp. Litt svovelkis og granatglimmerskifer. Skjerp 8: Røsk med 1 m3 tipp. Grovkornet svovelkis disseminert i granatmuskovittskifer. Skjerp 9: Røsk (2 m3 tipp) i samme type bergart som i skjerp 8. Skjerp 10: Røsk (2 m3 tipp) i samme type bergart som i skjerp 8 og 9. Litt sinkblende. Skjerp 11: Røsk (2 m3 tipp). Granat-biotittskifer med svovelkis-disseminasjon (06). Skjerp 12, UTM 474470 7352700: Liten, vannfylt synk med 5 m3 tipp. 10 cm mektig, semi-massiv magnetkis, svovelkis og litt sinkblende med endel biotitt , litt kalkspat og kvartsslirer (09) forløper diskordant med foliasjonen i sideberget som er glimmerskifer med svovelkis-disseminasjon (10). Skjerp 15, UTM 474010 7352300: Lite skjerp med 3 m3 tipp. Granat-hornblende-glimmerskifer med svovelkis-disseminasjon (11). Foliasjon: 260/60. Skjerp 16, UTM 472550 7353400: Gjengrodd røsk.

Abstract:
Statens anvisninger i Ranafeltet, i alt 167 stk., mineraliseringer av kis, kobber, sink og bly, og dekker en stor del av de kjente malmforekomstene i feltet. Et felt på ca. 40 km2 er geologisk oversiktskartlagt i målestokk 1:50 000. De kjente mineraliseringene er undersøkt og det er foretatt en geokjemisk bekkesedimentundersøkelse. EM- og magnetiske målinger er gjort med helikopter. Berggrunnen i det undersøkte området består av en mektig serie med eneta- sedimenter. Alle mineraliseringene er funnet i den nederste grusenheten - "Mofjellgneisen", malmen har rundt 0,5 % Cu og 1 % Zu og er ikke økonomisk interessant. Geokjemien avdekket ikke ytterligere mineraliserte områder. De geofysiske målinger antyder et anomaliområde øst og nordøst for Tapperskard som anbefales videre undersøkt.
