Forekomsten ble anmeldt i 1881 og mutet i 1882. De siste skjerpearbeider foregikk over noen måneder i 1938. I glimmergneis, og i den østlige delen også i amfibolitt, er det disseminasjon av magnetkis (finfordelt, 5-10 %), litt svovelkis og spor av sinkblende og kobberkis over flere meters mektighet. 11 skjerp er anlagt langs mineraliseringen. De beskrives fra vest mot øst: Skjerp 1: 3x3 m og 3 m dypt, 10 m3 tipp. Muskovittgneis med finfordelt magnetkis (5-10 %, prøve 01) og noen bånd av biotittgneis med relativt mye svakt fiolett flusspat, noe grønt glimmer og finfordelt magnetkis (02). Skjerp 2, 40 m vest for skjerp 1: Utbrutt 2 m3 i samme sone. Litt magnetkis i muskovittgneis. Skjerp 3. 70 m ØSØ for skjerp 1: Utsprengt 15 m3 i 5 m høy skrent. Glimmergneis (med noe granat) med 5-10 % finfordelt magnetkis og svovelkis (03). Foliasjon 70/50. Skjerp 4: 10 og 15 m øst for 3 er det to røsker med tilsammen 10 m3 tipp i samme sone. Den sulfid-disseminerte glimmergneisen er her minst 8 m mektig. Skjerp 5: 10 m3 er utsprengt i en skrent. Glimmergneis med magnetkis-disseminasjon (04). Skjerp 6: Røsk er sprengt 10x2 m inn i en skrent. Høyde: 5 m. 30 m3 tipp. Samme glimmergneis med finfordelt magnetkis og pegmatittbånd. Foliasjon 80/20. Hovedskjerpet: 8x2 m røsk i skråning, 20 m3 tipp. Glimmergneis med magnetkis-disseminasjon. Skjerp 7: Liten avblotning i en skrent i samme sone, 5 m3 tipp. Skjerp 8: 6x2 m og høyde 6 m, 40 m3 tipp. I ligg opptrer en minst 4 m mektig, grovkornet, massiv amfibolitt med 10 % magnetkis (05). Over denne er den magnetkis-disseminerte glimmergneisen som er fulgt med de ovenfor nevnte skjerp. Skjerp 9: 25 m lang røskegrøft oppover skråning sør for elva, 15 m3 tipp. Glimmergneis nederst (i nord) og granat-hornblende-gneis øverst. Litt magnetkis-disseminasjon over hele lengden. Skjerp 10: Utsprengt 5 m3 i skrent. Amfibolitt i ligg, glimmergneis i heng. Begge er impregmert med litt magnetkis.
