Mineraliseringene ved Grunntjørna ble funnet i 1908 og magnetometermåling, røsking og diamantboring foretatt 1908-1910. Hagengruben er sannsynligvis drevet på samme jernformasjon som Hans-Hermangruben. UTM 93.80 02.28: Røsken er 15x3x3 m med 100 m3 tipp. 1 m mektig finkornet, massiv magnetitt med bånd av magnetkis, svovelkis og litt kobberkis (prøve 01 og 02). Også noen smale magnetittbånd og -linser i sideberget, som er tuffittisk skifer. Kalkspat og svovelkis på sprekker i malmsonen. UTM 94.00 02.28: Ca. 1 m mektig jernformasjon i bekken hvor foliasjonen er 5/10. Ifølge gamle rapporter ligger Bertelgruben mellom Hagengruben og Ørngruben, nord for Grunntjørna. Den ble ikke funnet ved befaringen.
