Forekomsten ligger i nordskråningen av en mindre kolle nord for Austvatnet. Elektromagnetiske målinger viser flere ledende sone med varierende ledningsevne. De er opptil 250 m lange. Et skjerp og en rekke rustsoner finnes. Mektigheten til den massive sulfidsonen i skjerpet er vanskelig å bestemme p.g.a. løsmasseoverdekningen, men den er trolig mindre enn 1 m. Sulfidsonen ligger tilnærmet flatt. Noe kobberanrikningen er påvist. Øst og sørøst for skjerpet finnes en rekke rustsoner med hovedsakelig disseminert svovelkis både i grønnstein og metaryodacitt. Bergartene er dels sterkt omvandlet.

Lok. Nr. 30499, 30492. Elektrisk-magnetiske målinger ble utført i Joma og Kirma. Det ble tilsammen målt 5,5 km2 i profiler på ca. 100 m lengde. På begge steder ble det påvist en rekke gode ledere utenfor de fra før kjente malmkroppene.

Abstract:
Ore occurences of the Grong area: In the period 1910-1918 a great number of ore occurences were discovered in the Grong area. The late state geologist Steinar Foslie mapped the area in the years 1922-1931. Foslie also mapped all claims and occurences and made special field investigations in a few cases. This book presents a survey of all occurences chiefly based on the field observations of Foslie. In addition the present author has done some field work in connection with the three large deposits, Joma, Skorovass, and Gjersvik. The map, Plate 1, shows the areal geology and the location of the occurrences, numbered from 1 to 131. the ore of the occurrences is chiefly pyrite. The larger occurrences also contain some chalcopyrite and sphalerite etc. and the smaller occurrences contain ither pure pyrite with some magnetite. The Joma deposit (No. 1), contains about 15.5 mill. tons of ore. The ore zone forms an arc and is situated within a thick series of greenstones (Fig. 1). The Skorovass mine (No. 2), contains about 7,5 mill. tons of ore. The deposit is situated in a greenstone complex (Fig. 7), and is immediately surrounded by asid tuffs of quartz keratophyric composition (Table 1).

Samtolking av geodata i Grongfeltet - status pr. 15.12.94

Abstract:
Rapporten oppsummerer undersøkelsene som er utført innenfor prosjektet "Samtolkning av geodata i Grongfeltet" under feltsesongen 1994 og de fore- løpige resultatene fra disse er gitt. Oppfølgende undersøkelser var på bak- grunn av resultatene fra samtolkningen konsentrert i Gjersvik-området. Det besto av geologisk kartlegging og prøvetaking of bakkegeofysiske dypmålinger (transient-EM). I tillegg er kjerneboring gjennomført ved Godejord. Prøve- taking og kartlegging er utført for å videreutvikle kunnskapen om vulkanitt- stratigrafien og øke forståelsen for den magmatiske og hydrotermale utviklingen i Gjersvikdekket. Berggrunnskartlegging i M 1:20.000 er foretatt i Sanddøla- og Tromsfjell- områdene. Strukturgeologiske detaljundersøkelser og tolkninger av satelitt- bilder er gjort i Gjersvikområdet. De regionale helikoptermålingene er full- ført i den sørlige delen av Grongfeltet og innsamling av grunnlagsdata til bruk ved tolkning av denne er innsamlet. Ingen nye sulfidmineraliseringer av betydning er påvist i løpet av feltsesongen Foreløpige tolkninger av transient-EM målingene har heller ikke gitt positive indikasjoner, men prioriterte måleområder gjenstår fortsatt i Gjersvik-området. Kjerneboringen i Godejord har vist at de rikeste mineraliseringene avtar mot dypet.
