Nybrudalen består av to mindre skjerp som ligger i nordre del av et beiteområde med eldre granskog i nord, og øst for Herjuvatnet i Malvikmarka. De er angitt med samme koordinat. Skjerpet i sørvest er en liten grop hvor flere linser av blåkvartsitt som er opptil 25 cm mektige og har tynne grønnskiferlag imellom, er blottet. Den fører disseminert magnetitt og pyritt, og tynne bånd anriket på magnetitt og pyritt-kloritt. Sonen er totalt ca. 1 m mektig og ligger over en grønnskifer. Tilsvarende mineralisering i kvartsittisk bergart finnes i blokker ved skjerpet i nordøst. I østveggen er det der blottet et polymikt konglomerat med linseformete boller av felsisk bergart (trondhjemitt?) og porfyrisk grønnstein i klorittrik grunnmasse.
