Forekomsten ligger i høyfjellsterreng omkring 1000 moh i SV-skråningen av Molingdalsskarven. Enkleste adkomst er fra enden av veien ved det gamle gruveanlegget til Killingdal gruver på sørøstsida av Gaulåsen og derfra vel 4 km til fots.Tre skjerp finnes i et område med få blotninger over en lengde på 150 m med retning 110¿ fra det vestligste skjerpet som er det største. Hovedskjerpet består av en 6 x 4 m vannfylt synk med en 2 m høy vegg i øst. To tynne (5 cm) sulfidsoner er tilgjengelig i den nordlige veggen. De består av kobberkis strenger og disseminasjon i kvarts-biotitt skifer. På tippen finnes blokker med semi-massiv magnetkis-kobberkis i granat-kvarts-kloritt-amfibol rik matriks.

Dette er et grunnt vannfyllt skjerp med sidekanter på 3 x 4 m. To 5 cm brede sulfidsoner med kobberkis i granat-kloritt rik bergart som i hovedskjerpet finnes.

Skjerpet er en 4 x 4 m grunn, vannfylt synk med samme type kobbermineralisering som i de andre skjerpene er blottet. Mineraliseringen opptrer her i nær kontakt med finkornet gabbro/doleritt som finnes både over og under den en meter mektige skiferen.
