En bomvei går fra Grønlivollan ved Reitan-Tydal veien og opp langs vestsida av Bønskneppen. Flere små skjerp og grunne synker ligger i nordøstskråningne av Bønskneppen. Dette er en kobberforekomst men flere prøver fra området er også anriket på gull (opptil 3,6 g/t Au). Aasgaard (1927) beskriver at det skal være drevet på kobberkis-pyritt førende ganger ‘som synes fattige’ på Bønskneppen. Hovedskjerpet er tidligere kallt Bønskneppen III og består av en 1,5 m dyp vannfyllt synk med vegger 3 x 4 m på toppen av en skråning. Kobberkis og magnetkis finnes disseminert og i aggregater i en 20-30 cm bred sulfidsone i granat-amfibol-kvarts-feltspat bergart; garbenskifer. Sulfidene kan dels være anriket langs kvartslinser i denne.

Abstract:
The occurences described in this paper form a connection between th mining districts around Røros to the south and those around Meråker to the north. The occurences lie in mountain regions partly above the forest line. The list on page 12 contains the names of all known occurrences of whatever size within the district considered. Pl. I is a geological outline map of the district, compiled from maps in the Norwegian Geological Survey. In a geological summary on pages 18-27 it is shown that no pyrite occurrences of economic importance so far have been found in an eastern zone along the Swedish boundary where the rocks consist of hard schist with sparagmites, and igneous rocks. Neither have such occurrences been found in a zone of "Stuedalsskifer" and an other zone of "Gulaskifer" towards west, both indicated on the map. The occurrences of pyrite are chiefly found in connection with fine grained, light green or gravish, partly feldspar bearing schist and in connection with green schists, mostly fine grained hornblende schists. All these zones of schist gnereally strike north and dip west. The pyrite bearing schist lie on both sildes of a large zone of igneous rocks extending from Kjølifjell in the south over Hyllingen and Melshogna to Fangen in the Meråker district in the north.

Bønskneppen II ligger ca. 100 m nord for hovedskjerpet. En 0,7-0,8 m mektig rustsone som overlagres av garbenskifer finnes i sørveggen av en mindre synk med sidevegger 2 x 3 m. Sulfidsonen består av aggregater og disseminasjon av kobberkis, magnetkis og pyritt i en granat-amfibol rik bergart. Sulfidmineralene er også her anriket kangs få cm brede kvartslinser. Analyse av en rikt mineralisert prøve gir 6,1 % Cu og 3,6 g/t Au.

Bønskneppen I ligger ca. 100 m nordøst for det trigonometriske punktet på Bønskneppen. Skjerpet består av en vannfyllt grop/synk med sidevegger 2 x 3 m. Sulfidmineraliseringen består av svak disseminasjon av kobberkis, pyritt og mindre mengder sinkblende i kvarts-biotitt skifer, rikere disseminasjon av kobberkis-magnetkis i granat-amfibol skifer (garbenskifer) og kobberkis og gedigen kobber i grovkornet kvarts.

Bønskneppen IV er et mindre skjerp som er utsprengt i en knaus ca. 1,5 km øst for hovedskjerpet. Sulfidmineraliseringen likner den lengre vest og består i hovedsak av kobberkis-magnetkis disseminasjon, aggragater og strenger i en granat-amfibol bergart.Sulfidmineralene er også anriket langs og dels i grovkornet kvartsåre/-gang og i tillegg finnes blokker med massiv magnetkis på tippen.
