Forekomsten ligger over tregrensen i nordskråningen av Rundhøgda, 3.5 km sør for det nedlagte oppredingsanlegget til Killingdal Gruber. Enkleste adkomst er fra bilvei inn til Reitvollan. Den ble funnet i 1902 eller 1903 av folk fra Skårdalsgårdene og ble skjerpet av disse. Prøvedrift ble utført i vintrene 1904-05 og 1918-19, og en synk ble drevet ned til ca. 15 meters dyp. Rester av skinnegangen ned i den vannfylte synken fantes fortsatt ved befaring i 1997.

Abstract:
Formålet med målingene var det samme ved begge grubene. I første rekke skulle man klarlegge forholdene ved grubene, og dessuten undersøke om det skulle ligge hittil ukjente malmforekomster i områdene omkring grubene. Det ble ut- ført el.magn. målinger (Turam) på vanlig måte i stikningsnett. SKARGRUBEN. Det ble målt et 5,3 km2 stort område. Over gruben ble det ikke ob- servert indikasjoner, og det er derfor grunn til å anta at forekomsten er meget liten. 100 meter øst og nordøst for gruben ble det påvist 3 svakt ledende soner av liten utstrekning. En meget sterkt ledende sone ble påvist 1 000 meter vest for gruben. Sonen strekker seg ut av målefeltet. Sannsynlig- vis har man her å gjøre med grafittskifer. BUKKHAMMERGRUBEN. Feltet er 4,8 km2 stort. Det ble observert sterke indika- sjoner på en rekke ledende soner av vekslende utstrekning. Enkelte soner fort- stter ut av målefeltet. Det kan allerede nå fastslåes at noen soner er gra- fittførende. De fleste soner er dog overdekket og kan ikke bedømmes før røsking, eventuelt boringer er foretatt. Grubens malmsone ga svake indika- sjoner og har trolig liten utstrekning og mektighet.

Abstract:
The occurences described in this paper form a connection between th mining districts around Røros to the south and those around Meråker to the north. The occurences lie in mountain regions partly above the forest line. The list on page 12 contains the names of all known occurrences of whatever size within the district considered. Pl. I is a geological outline map of the district, compiled from maps in the Norwegian Geological Survey. In a geological summary on pages 18-27 it is shown that no pyrite occurrences of economic importance so far have been found in an eastern zone along the Swedish boundary where the rocks consist of hard schist with sparagmites, and igneous rocks. Neither have such occurrences been found in a zone of "Stuedalsskifer" and an other zone of "Gulaskifer" towards west, both indicated on the map. The occurrences of pyrite are chiefly found in connection with fine grained, light green or gravish, partly feldspar bearing schist and in connection with green schists, mostly fine grained hornblende schists. All these zones of schist gnereally strike north and dip west. The pyrite bearing schist lie on both sildes of a large zone of igneous rocks extending from Kjølifjell in the south over Hyllingen and Melshogna to Fangen in the Meråker district in the north.
