Atramadal VMS-deposit in Ølve is in excess of 600 m long, but its thickness rarely exceeds 1 m. Selected grab-samples occasionally return 15-20% Zn or 10-15% Cu (Norrbotten Exploration AB, pers. com.). It has been mined intermittently since 1642 and may be the oldest mine in the Hardanger district. It is known as Christians Gave Kobberverk fra 1772.

Description

Lykkens prøve, også kalt Stolpegruva befinner seg oppe på åsryggen vest for veien fra Atramadal. Gruva består av en lang stoll i sørvestlig retning og med vannfylte skråsynker som faller mot nordvest, parallelt strøket og malmsonen (foliasjon 220/20 i grønnskifer over malmsonen). Stollen er forbundet med Godthåbsgruva 105 m mot sørvest. Malmsonen har en mektighet på 1-2 m og inneholder massiv pyritt i tynne linser opptil 15 cm mektige og striper/slirer med magnetkis og kobberkis i kvarts-kloritt bergart. Det er en anselig tipphaug utenfor gruva, anslagsvis 3000-3500 kbm.
