Skjerpet ligger rett ved sjøen innerst i Fiskedammen vest for området med gråberg fra Gamle Vigsnes gruve. Det er sprengt på sørsida av en kolle langs tre tilnærmet parallell rustsoner i en lengde av 1-2 m, over en bredde på 5-6 m og i en høyde av 4-5 m. Rustsonene er 5-15 cm brede (den midtre er orientert 290°/80°) og består av svak pyritt disseminasjon i kloritt- og epidot-rik dolerittisk grønnstein som dels er noe forskifra. Metadoleritten er foliert (316°/70°) og gjennomsatt av mange trondhjemittiske ganger på begge sider av rustsonene. Tippen er gjengrodd og benyttes i dag som leirbålplass.
